Mazuba Kapambwe - A Gem

Mazuba Kapambwe – Travel Writer | Cultural Storyteller | Podcast Host

Mazuba Kapambwe is a Zambia‑based freelance travel and culture writer who uses her pen (and mic) to map out Africa’s hidden corners and celebrate overlooked stories. Her bylines have appeared in major outlets including CNN Travel, Conde Nast Traveler, The Culture Trip, and Unearth Women — covering travel, music, art, and the soulful pulse of African cities and traditions.

Beyond the bylines, she’s the driving force behind creative‑cultural projects:

She hosts the travel podcast Mwende Bwino (“Go/Travel Well”), inviting listeners to rediscover their roots, explore Africa’s landscapes, and question what travel means when you travel as an African — not just a tourist.

She co‑founded and co‑hosted The Fest Gurus — a web‑series turned TV show that chased festivals across the continent to spotlight African creativity, sound and celebration. From festival grounds to cultural deep‑dives, Mazuba helped narrate Africa by Africans.

On the page, expect stories that are bold but warm — safari tales from Zambia’s wildest plains, deep dives into music revivals like Zamrock, intimate portraits of communities, and cultural critique that challenges stereotypes. Mazuba writes not just for travel, but for identity, belonging, and cultural pride.

At heart, Mazuba isn’t selling glamor — she’s offering authenticity. She invites readers and listeners to unlearn narrow narratives about Africa and see the continent for its nuance, beauty and contradictions. That makes her ethos a perfect match for The Buzz: raw, real, rooted and relentlessly curious.
