Who's behind Bite Me?
My name is Mwaka Mwiimbu but a lot of people call me ‘Mwakie’. I am a passionate home cook and foodie that loves to try out new recipes. I have always had a passion for food and so I thought why not share my art with the world.
I believe good food has the ability to bring joy, bring people together and change lives. And everyone should have the chance to experience good food. Growing up in Zambia, food was always something that brought people together. Where there was good food, there was joy, there was laughter and most of all there was love.
For me cooking is not just about being in the kitchen and putting ingredients together. Cooking is a form of expression, an art. One needs to be able to know what flavors go well with each other and what flavors compliment each other. A good cook is never afraid to experiment and try out new and unconventional flavors and ingredients. Never be afraid to fail!
The cook/chef is the artist, the food is the medium and the kitchen is our canvas.
